Marti Early Tanner

I moved with my family to the Dallas area the summer after our graduation. Although I HATE the Texas summers I guess I've adjusted over the years and now it's home. After graduating from the University of Texas in '72 I spent about 10 years managing school cafeterias for the Dallas ISD before switching gears. I went back to school to learn computer programming and spent the next 20 plus years as a mainframe programmer for the Dallas Police Department. I retired several years ago but still did 'consulting' one day a week until June of 2014. I'm now fully retired and my 'work' involves various area clubs, church activity and spending time with my Grandchildren.

My son, Harley moved back to the area from Seattle in October 2015. His family, including wife and 2 daughters live about 80 miles North of us. We see them at least every few months. My daughter Sara is a neonatal ICU nurse at a local Dallas hospital. She lives near Dallas with her fiancé, daughter and son.

My husband and I moved to the country about 50 miles southeast of Dallas in 2011 and play at farming on 5 acres.
Life is treating me pretty good.

I wish I could have kept in touch better through the years and actually attended some of the functions, but it just wasn't in the cards. It's been great fun to reconnect after all this time.

My favorite school memories are of my involvement in the Drama department. I loved it. We had a great group. I especially enjoyed The Wizard of OZ. I even majored in drama for a semester in college before realizing that I probably should major in something that could guarantee employment. I've enjoyed seeing reminiscences from others on this site about our drama group as well.
