2013 45th Reunion Recap Message:  (scroll down for photo collections)

Hello Everyone!

It was a perfect weekend!  Thanks Gary, for warming the barstool at 4pm for the Friday mixer at Traders! About 25 people were there to reconnect and get this party started.. I heard Joe Diana's wife Diana, ( yes she is Diana Diana), hit the slots for 200 dollars!  Jim Persechino invited classmates over to his place across the street to party on.  I know you are in Peru right now Jim... hope you are safe and having a wonderful visit.

The BBQ was at noon on Sat-- a perfect marina- setting day. Sailboats passing thru the channel, sunny skies and nice breezes.  We began to arrive- in our tie dye, neon and hippie outfits..  Food was great and thanks to Gary, non stop 60 tunes played in the background.. Dr Vest and his lovely wife came as well.  We got him up to speak and he totally held our attention when he reminissed about those "golden years" at Crossland High. Then we caught some ribbing about being senior citizens and social security  etc...

So we talked, we ate and danced...  Catch our group photo... our message is to Joyce Milner who suffered a stroke last year and is in a  nursing home.  The cake is a replica of our Doodle from the year book and we started a new one for the next reunion....  4pm rolled around and time to caravan over to Bruce's house on the river for pizza and beer.  I noticed some hot cars on the lawn at Bruces ( Jim Leapley!) and Tom Tankersly just brought his home with him from NC!  I left around ten to join the girls as the spa hotel for wine and girl talk but I heard Bruce had quite a few couch guests overnight. Thanks again Bruce for the use of your place.

Sunday at 11 about 30 of us,  met at the Rod N Reel for the Brunch...we surely heard no complaints here!  The food was amazing.  It was again a perfect fall day on the bay as we started to say our goodbyes.. some left to catch the Skins game somwhere, some flew back home.. we crisscrossed the USA from Bellingham, Washington State to Miami, Fl. and we locals called it a day and got in the car... feeling good about our old friends from back in the day... For me, driving home I had a funny thought.. it's 2013 and I was having a beer with my principal and it's OK to call him ED.. weird.

Welcome to all new members of this site and please spread the word so we can get even more classmates involved.  We won't vanish over the next five years.. for sure there will be a pool/picnic party next August. It's been suggested to carry on the birthday celebrations--we turned 50 jammin at John Carter's place in Breezy Point and 60 at the VFW Hall crab feast.  Like it or not, 65 is around the corner so check back to see what we come up with......

So please everyone, whether you came, sat it out or wished now you had come :),  use the site to keep in touch.. The commitee would love to hear from you what the FIFTY Year Renion should be like.   And only if you care to, I will leave the credit card donation feature on a for a while longer if you would like to make a small donation to keep the site alive and to help fund upcoming events.

Peace,

Your Crossland Class of '68 Reunion Committee

Gail, Bruce, Ann, Pat, Jimmy, Jens, Teresa,Dennis,Roger and Gary
